Actually, NC is not at the top of that chart.
Latest stats, from 2006:
New Mexico had the highest teenage pregnancy rate (93 per 1,000), followed by Nevada, Arizona, Texas and Mississippi. The lowest rates were in New Hampshire (33), Vermont, Maine,Minnesota and North Dakota.
Also:
Teenage abortion rates were highest in New York (41 per 1,000), New Jersey, Nevada, Delaware and Connecticut.
One could infer that the NE had the most unwanted teenaged pregnancies, as they got the most abortions per 1000.

Yeah, but NC is number 9 in teen pregancy and number 42 based on condom sales. Far from scientific, but see the correlation? Not saying they are realted, but ass they like to say "it warrants further study"
