Default Help me find good neighborhoods in Fayetteville

Hi everyone. My family and I are moving to Fayetteville in July. But, I really need to know the good neighborhoods and the areas to stay away from. I have elementary school age kids, and I know in Mesa, there are great places and great schools, and then there is the gun shots all day neighborhoods. Can anybody help? We are on a budget, so we are looking for cheap rent. So hopefully good neighborhood and cheap rent, or pretty good neighborhood and cheap rent. Thanks for any advice

Hi We moved to Fayetteville with elem aged kids last Aug. I used pretty strict criteria for looking at schools, started with the good high schools, then found the good elem. schools that fed into those. We ended up in what is supposed to be the best schools in Fayetteville, Jack Britt HS and Stoney Pt elementary school, they have the best test scores.
There are other HSchools with good elems feeding into them,

I would look at elemtary schools: Stoney Point, C Wayne Collier, Eastover-Central, Ed V Baldwin (but has a year round schedule), Gallberry farms, Melvin Honeycutt, Rockfish (NOT Rockfish/HOke), and, if you want to be IN/near downtown, which can be very expensive, and can also be close to more undesireable areas, Vanstory Hills.
Any of these schools will likely put you in the kind of neighborhood that's safe and good for kids.
There does not seem to be tons of availability right now.....maybe move fast. also, check Militarybyowner.com there may be more there to choose from, the schools should be listed on that site too, but you cannot search by school there.
Good luck.
