For hockey, and I'm sure that Dan in EGF can affirm this, head to the NE quarter of the state. Hockey is huge in Grand Forks, Grafton, Park River, and over the MN border in Thief River Falls, Warroad, Roseau, etc. There is youth hockey in Fargo and West Fargo, but not near the consuming interest that it is farther north.
In the past, there has almost always been demands for welders, but I'm not sure about the current situation.
I concur youth hockey in the Grand Forks and surrounding areas is huge and all consuming for some parents.... As for the job info I dont know much about that sector to help you out much. There is always some demand of course. job service of ND has a website with job listing in different parts of the state.
