Default Cell phone coverage

Hi,
anyone able to help what carrier would be the best at ZIP code 58444 (Sheridan County) if it comes to coverage? I'm going there soon and not sure if my phone will work. I called my carrier (T-mobile), they said "it might work" - very helpful...

I'd go with Verizon or AT&T. The rest of the major carriers don't get much in the way of service in this state.

Verizon does have the best coverage bar none in the state. Sheridan county is the definition of rural but even there would think coverage is OK

My in-laws live about 15 miles southwest of Minot in very rural area and they get good Verizon coverage.

We have Verizon as well, my husband gets coverage at most rig locations. I agree with Dan, they're the best in the state.

But AT&T is here and has ok coverage... not nearly as good as Verizon, though.

Thank you. Verizon does seem to be the best in ND. This article says they recently put much into infrastructure.. Verizon Wireless Invests $17.3 Million in North Dakota - MarketWatch

I'm in the process of moving to North Dakota and have driven in all parts of the state. I have Verizon and the coverage is excellent, even in highly rural areas. I've been told by some locals that anything other than Verizon can result in spotty coverage. I wouldn't go with any other carrier in North Dakota.

I'm about 6 miles outside of Williston and get 4 to 5 bars on my Blackberry.

FWIW, AT&T coverage has been horrible for me whenever I'm in McLean County. Guys sitting next to me will have 4 bars of signal with Verizon and I have none with AT&T.

Isn't ATT now taking over in the Minot area?! It is said that Verizon is going down now in ND! ATT were bad in past months however should be better now with several towers in place and more coming in, could some Verizon users as well as ATT users comment on that?! Thanks! HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Near major towns, either SHOULD be fine. It's when you're out on rig sites that the comparison is relevant.

When he headed up a year ago my husband dropped his AT&T-roaming phone and went with Verizon.
He hasnt been able to compare since then, but said the new guys seem to still changing over to verizon.

There are very few remote sites he's been on where Verizon didn't cover him...even in Canada.
