Default small quaint towns in North Dakota

I will soon be traveling thru North Dakota and would like to visit some quaint, charming, historic, high-quality little towns in North Dakota. Small towns with old buildings, some nice boutiques, restaurants, old houses. The only town that has been recommended to me so far is Medora. Any others that you could recommend to me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

Unfortunately, ND doesn't have a lot of that type of little town. We haven't been around long enough to build up little towns with urban feels...most of our little towns struggle to stay alive. Most of the little towns that are around are supported by the farming communities. Medora is the only town that comes to mind because it is a tourist destination. We kind of tear down our old buildings and make way for new ones. You'd have to go to a bigger town to find preservation of older buildings, etc...

quaint
1. having an old-fashioned attractiveness or charm; oddly picturesque: a quaint old house.
2. strange, peculiar, or unusual in an interesting, pleasing, or amusing way: a quaint sense of humor.
3. skillfully or cleverly made.
4. Obsolete. wise; skilled.

A lot of North Dakota might be considered quaint. I think it may depend on your own personal interpetation of what quaint is.
There are many ghost towns in North Dakota. I've been in a few. You see a few old buildings still standing and you begin to imagine the people that lived their and what they were like. To me, that would be quaint. Small little towns deep in history of a time gone by. Sadly, many still struggling to survive. Someday I think that will all change.
North Dakota will become the final frontier when everyone is tired of living everywhere else

The following is a link to my quaint area of NoDak

PS.. No, I don't work for the North Dakota Dept. of Tourism..

Sometimes it doesn't take mountains to inspire a person.

Fort Ransom, South of Valley City. Take the Scenic Back way right at the Tesero gas stop exit. Nice drive. Cute little town tucked in a nice river valley.
