Barleysoda is on a distinguished road
thanks! I've always driven through ND and never had a reason to spend any time there. I've always just drove strait through to Minneapolis where my family is. every time I go through I'm always impressed with the landscape and what appears to be the way of life there.

here's a sunrise picture I took in 2006. It was spectacular and I had to pull off the freeway and get a picture of it. it was at the eldridge exit #251 eastbound I believe. it may have been farther west I didn't really look I just went off my memory. it turned out kinda blurry but still brought out the colors. I don't think I'll ever see another one like this.

Barleysoda,

The picture you were not sure about is one of many metal sculptures which begin with Geese in Flight and go south from Gladstone near I-94 to Regent, ND. We drove that highway in September and were amazed at the number and size of the sculptures. More information is available with a Google search for Enchanted Highway.

Your pictures are beautiful, and thanks for sharing.

thanks for the info on that. I'm going back to MN next July and plan on spending some time there in ND beforehand, and I'll be stopping at the enchanted HWY to check it out also.

Dear Snowblind9 -- do you have any of the old "Bee Bridge" in Bismarck? that was the metal-grate surfaced bridge. I understand it's been removed to a park along the riverbank. Going over it was always a minor thrill when I was a little kid (lived in Bismarck for a while ... and just about every other major town in ND, after being hatched in Devil's Lake
