I'm relocating to the Watford City area in a couple of weeks and am looking for housing for myself and family but I am not having much luck finding anything.
I have tried checking craigslist and Bisman, is there any other places to check? I am in need of a 3 or 4 bedroom house, mobile, or apt.
Watford is just as bad as Williston is when it comes to housing. The chances of finding something are slim to none. My best suggestion is to either get an RV that the family can stay in or find a roommate and leave your family behind.
Yeah I have checked in Williston too and it's pretty slim there too. My company is helping me with housing but there's not much they can do when there's no housing to help me with. This reminds me of the oil boom in west Texas years ago. It was the same thing there too, high wages, no housing and higher rents.
Oh well I guess that's the price you pay to make the pay. I'm really thinking it would be best to come out by myself at first and work through the winter then have my family come out in the spring.
Have you talked to your company about mancamps? That may be the best way to get lodging.
Have you considered relocating your family to Bismarck, so you can be closer for your time off? But then again, you probably don't want to have to move them twice. If you are staying in Watford City for the long term - it may be difficult to get a house even by next summer.
