I am looking at going to North Dakota in the spring. I already have a small RV to live in and plan on upgrading my Class B CDL to a Class A before I make the trip. I hope they are still hiring come spring 2012.

What exactly is a tipis?

Yup, that is it, although I don't plan on getting a painted one.

A campground, out in the woods, someone's backyard. I figure anywhere a tent can go a tipi can go.

The city shut down a "tent city" last year and there is no way you will get away with this. The city just found a "house" built under a bridge that is on the front page of the Williston Hearald. Williston Herald - Online Edition

Right. I'm thinking of legal places to put it, not places where you are essentially squatting.

That house under the bridge does look like a house, lol......I don't blame people for getting creative it sucks there is such a issue with housing even accomodations there. We are actually researching how to survive sleeping in your car in winter when we would be willing to pay even for a hotel, sad to say.....

Try Buffalo Trails Campground north of Williston a few miles. They have 100 RV spots and 6 or so TENT spots. I have seen tents there in the past.
