Never been to a job fair, what should you carry? (best, business)

Although I have not located a job fair close enough to get to yet, I am not giving up. I have to admit, I have never been to a Job Fair and not sure about the protocol. Multiple copies of your resume? Cover letters? Of course I know you would need DL and SS card but would you need any other forms of ID? Any tips of those who have been recently and details about the process would be greatly appreciated!

1) Do some research on the companies that will be there that your interested in. I was at one where I looked up their website for the company I was interested in and had some basic facts memorized and that impressed them.

2) Resumes

3) Portfolios - resumes, references, copy or samples of your best work.

4) Dress appropriately. Business conservative like maybe?

5) Make eye contact, firm handshake, show your excited.

6) Firm handshake, lol, firm believer in that.

7) Remember to follow up with thank you letter for interviews.

8) Research interview questions, google that and be prepared to pitch yourself a bit in a short amount of time.

9) Ask for business cards to take with you.

Thanks Broncogirl, now I just have to find one to attend. That has been slow to find, although I did find a tip in another thread to check out the companies Facebook fanpages. Never thought that's where I would find job fair info, but works for me. Thanks again!

Get a first and last name. I'm having challenges getting a hold of the person I spoke with at the Baker Hughes Job Fair because I only know the first name.

Good point Roloff75. Where did you go to the job fair and if you don't mind me asking, how did you find out about it?
I did come across a thread that mentioned to check the companies Facebook pages but I still have not found one that had a job fair posted.

I'm pretty sure I saw a couple job fairs posted on the jobsnd.com website.
