ND Felons & the way they Get HIRED.
WARNING:
There are numerous oil patch, metal fabrication, welding & trade forums out there promoting ways for convicted felons and illegals to get hired in the ND Bakken oil patch.
A simple google search will yield any and all the info you need to confrim this. How to get hired in the Bakken with a felony when no place else will hire you. It's easier if you are an illegal alien but felons work off the books just like they do.
The large oil and construction firms do extensive criminal background checks on prospective employees. They also sub-contract out most of the work to undesirables and thus avoid the liability that comes with hiring sub-human prison trash.
Have any of you asked the simple question in regards to WHO hired the suspects in the death of the Montana teacher from Sidney?
You may wish to put some pressure on these companies and your local politiicans in regards to who they are hiring and bringing up to your previously crime free communities. Just a thought.

Has there been any proof that the suspects were working in the oilfield or any other industry here for that matter? if there is, it's news to me.

They are in the Williston jail and are said to be from Colorado. Press reports say both are transient multiple felons and one was using multiple fake names. I doubt they were tourists in Sidney MT or Williston ND in January but I'm sure it's a possibilty. Western ND and Eastern MT are tops on my list for January tourism for sure!
Good luck finding out who hired them. I'm sure the oil patch political protection code has kicked into full armor protection by now. Just a guess on my part.

A comment on the Sidney paper website said the older guy was possibly a traveling meat salesman. We can all assume things but let's try stick with the facts. Good luck with your relocation to nd.

Most Felons are not "violent" our legal system is set up backwards! I dont know why you would come on here to condemn American citizens from trying to make a living. You would be upset if they were selling drugs.....so then your upset that they come all the way to fridgid North Dakota to work?? Make up your mind. As far as illegals, if there wasnt a demand for them, they wouldbe be here, point blank. Anyone who has the b@lls to move to North Dakota for work is pretty brave....

Now you can't say that all felons are dangerous criminals. I got a felony when I was 18 but its non violent and not drug related. Im working for a big company in williston, I just hate it when people think that a felon is a murderer

Excellent link JanND. There's a huge difference between a convicted felon and a person charged with a felony or convicted of a misdemeanor. First time offenders or youthful indiscretions are seldom CONVICTED of a felony unless it's something very serious. Felons are hardened criminals, most likely multiple REPEAT offenders and they are coming up to ND in droves. They are also being reqruited by unscrupulous companies and there are web sites telling them how to get work in the oil patch. Be afraid. Very afraid.

Hahahahahha. You must have little experience or knowledge of the criminal justice system. First time offenders are routinely charged and convicted of felonies, especially at the Federal level. In fact, the Federal government has basically abandon 2000 years of precedence and done away with the concept of mens rea. An honest mistake on a Federal form or a wrong turn on a snow mobile ends up in a felony conviction these days. Don't believe me? Do a quick search and you will see what I'm talking about. Now I do agree that violent felons should be kept in check, but don't lump all people with felonies in to the same bunch.
