We are thinking about moving back to the Lake Metigoshe area and are wondering what the cost of building is in the area and for what size home. Any help is great, Thanks!

My wife and I will be moving (from California) to Lake Metigoshe next summer, as we bought a place on Lake Metigoshe (I grew up in Rugby ND). I might be of some help, because I have some contacts there and know a little about whats going on in the area.
Questions??
Are you looking for property on the lake, close to the lake, or near the lake?
Would you be only interested in building, or would you also be interested in existing properties for sale?

Actually I am from Bottineau and left about 6 years ago for Florida. It seems that real estate is high at the lake and we were going to check around and see what the going square foot cost is to build up there vs buying already built. I know a few of the local builders and will have to give them a call. Thanks for any input it all helps, I just thought I would see if anyone has built anything recently in the area.

I talked to someone and he said new construction cost runs between $125 - $140 Sq/Ft in the Bottineau/Lake Metigoshe area. We bought a newer house (yr 2000) on the lake, but got it for a good price.
A well will run you about $5000 - $7000 additionally.
Hope this helps you out.
Good luck in your move back. We can't wait either. Looking forward to a more layed-back pace.

Default Land Prices

Cost for cabins and lots are uber retarted, both on the American and Canadain side. I live in Deloraine Manitoba, and like 10 years ago you couldn't even give lots and cabins away. I had a friend get offered a chainsaw for his cabin in 1996, which can now sell for 75,000 dollars. What happened!?
