Great title for this thread. I will be waiting anxiously to see what happens in this case. Minot had a similar case that went to jury last year - it led many people around the area to start saying "If you want to get away with murder, do it in Minot". I am still conflicted about the verdict - since the dead man was shot in the back, in the street.
The SA is reachiing with the Attempted Murder charge. Given the circumstances of the case, the fact that the person shot was unarmed is irrelevant. The problem here is that our state laws are somewhat confusing and vague regarding use of force and self defense. If the individual shot didn't live at the camper then it would have been perfectly justified.
