Geez! I'm not even looking for a foreman or oil job and I am very excited for you. LOL I am not even from ND...yet
If the mod recommends a new thread....let us know which thread you moved to...I want to keep up with how things are going for you. I feel so good about how others have offered you assistance...it makes me feel very encouraged that acts of kindness are alive and kickin in ND as well as other states.
GOOD LUCK!!!

Tips> Take can foods, Can opener and Jugs of water, blankets etc.. Window air instead of A/C , Better for fuel & vehicle over heating. And Very important if you may want a Day of rest and Creature Comforts at an affordable price after a very long drive, Think no farther than northern MN to Fargo,ND which is on the MN/ND border I-94 for affordable hotel rates. After that your at the mercy of whats going on up there and its not pocketbook friendly. And for anyone coming out of the west look for the same no farther than Billings,MT An even around Billings most are a bit high. use Priceline and Hotwire to book your hotels and try and book early as reasonably possable. Weather Channel at every Truck Stop but dont eat there. If U can afford to eat at a truck stop u dont need a job in ND

Thanks Jefferyz and everyone on the comments...
I'm looking for work in Bismarck first and if needed then fan out from there.
I'll start out here as I haven't heard back from the thread Admn yet.
Some experience I've had traveling on the road back in the late 80's to late 90's has prepared me some and the great advice here has helped a lot.
First of...the vehicle
I'm taking my Cadillac as it get's an honest 27 mile per gallon hwy (compared to my truck that may get 16 down hill) my first three interviews for employment include a company truck for transportation if I land one of those.
1. Change of fluids, grease and inspect for parts needing attention or repair. (headlights and such also)
2. I checked spare tire for holding pressure and bought a second tire as backup to the spare.
3. Jumper box, air compressor and hand tools(including flashlight) for possible roadside repairs. (plugs to fix flats)
4. Washed and detailed car.
5. Replace windshield wipers, applied rainx on the outside and an anti-fog on the inside of the windshield.
I have a power converter that will run my laptop and accessories needed on the road.
That was just a quick rundown and may have left out something or three...lol
As far as travelling, my first stop is with friends who live in Tennessee and after driving 11 hours it will be nice to have a great meal with friends, hot shower and 8 hours of sleep to get me going again.
I'm doing something different then most.... primitive tent camping to reduce costs. I've lined up certain places to stay around Bismarck and I will touch on this later. But you will be surprised!
