Heading up soon... It's a do or die attempt to find employment.
I'm 46 and have light to heavy equipment experience. Many years in construction. No problem sleeping in car.
Minot and Kildeer area.

Would you do it?

Yep.
EVERYONE is looking for construction experience since there's a building boom going on coinciding with both the oil boom, as well as last year's flood in Minot.

Thanks everyone.....Been reading the tips, mostly geared toward commercial driving so far. Just worried I get there and wages are too low to send money back home.

Coming up from Inverness, just south of Ocala

Thanks everyone for helping me. I'm seriously going to make the trip up. I applied online with T.L. but really think drive up and getting face time with someone would be better as I expect they get many wannabes just looking. I have connected with a friend..of a friend..of a friend who is working for ALLY Equipment and he just drove up a applied. I know I will have many questions before I leave.

Thomas This link to an older thread on this forum may help you see why there are so many building opportunities in Minot....if you are seeking construction jobs read this thread, view the flood video, and also check the community thread listed among the posts. Moving to ND Stanley VS Williston

I can get a Class B commercial license real quick before I leave....What does it entail to switch over to N.D. license when I get there? Any retesting or just a simple fee?
