No Kidding!! Like Warren Buffet needs anymore money? I think it's disgusting and disturbing.

Might as well drill..we drill everywhere else and with the way state law is written about mineral rights it is going to happen no matter what we want. At least with cooperation maybe sites can be chosen that are masked from general view or nice buffer zones planted..

State taking steps to manage oil drilling on public land - Williston Herald: Letters To Editor

Lynn Helms doing a little PR/Damage Control.

Some other oil companies are trying to create buffers and hide wells near scenic/populated areas. For instance, Statoil is in the process of planting multiple layers of tree rows around their well sites near Williston. Too bad it will be 20 years before the trees are large enough to really hide much.

I guess they could do it like they hide them out in parts of California. Hide the wells inside a structure. Just build a big red barn over each pumping unit.

this is why some government regulation is good and having it all hardcore libertarian wouldn't work, too many opportunistic parasites that would dump toxic waste and cut down all the trees if they were given the chance.

Funny, the article came out in May, so much for the Oct. ---April promise. The roads alone to and from the well sites will be damage enough...add to that the large area that a well takes up....plus all the out buildings, equipments, piles of metal pipes....sludge, more trips daily. Multiple pad sites are being developed, so that is a possibility too.
The mobile homes, Dog house....crew shack....then all the lights and noise. The animals have probably long since left the area, at least those that can. And, that's just drilling, you fracking, production......Sad.....destructive, and we residents... are gonna pay a hard price forever.....for the greed now.
