Campgrounds in Williston & Minot areas...
We're looking at campgrounds for a possible move in a short amount of time (3 to 6 months) and most of the information that I found via google is outdated. Does anyone have current information to share?
This is a list of things we need to have:
--pet friendly (1 small dog, 1 cat & a bunny. all three are indoor pets)
--family friendly (4 adults & 1 child)
--long term camping (year round)
--space for park model or a 5th wheel 38 to 45 ft.
--wi-fi
--water & sewer hookups
Any info would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

In the 3 to 6 months Time frame Your aware that The Temps are Normaly in the teens ,single digits and Below Zero and can go way below Zero. Then factor in wind chill thats always colder than actual Temps. A Warm Day is in Mid to upper 20s. Last year was the only year where Temps were warmer than normal for Upper Midwest Winters. Last I have seen on here RV/Camper spots when and where avalible With hook ups were running right around 800.00 and Up

I heard most RV campgrounds closed last winter...Make sure if you are renting one that it is year round, water, heat etc.

The 3 to 6 month time frame puts you in the heart of winter. Probably not a good time to come up to North Dakota with an RV unless it's really winterized and you find a place with year-round water and sewer hookups.
In spite of the 'warm' winter we had up here last year, there were some days that went well below zero. Don't count on a repeat of last winter. The temps that Jefferyz outlined is spot on for a normal North Dakota winter.

Last year, and I don't know which RV parks, they stayed open and offered power only. They shut down and winterized sewer and water to protect their equipment. They kept the park open and offered power. A truck came around a couple times a week and pumped out RV grey/black water tanks. Another truck came around a couple times a week with potable water and filled RV holding tanks.

Me and my wife came up from florida in april and are staying at swenson vally veiw in minot. They are going to finish up another 70 or so sites next month. They will be open all year it's a nice place and close to everything with lots of work going on in and around town. By far it's your best option as housing is tight and not CHEAP 2,000 and up for 2 bedroom house and apartments go for 1,500 and no pets. We really like Minot and have done fine as far as work and adjusting so far, But winter might be the true test lol.
Best of luck just do all your reserch and go for it it's hear.
