In regards to the storm system due this upcoming weekend...Nov 10-11th.... it is still looking that areas across the northwest half of North Dakota will see a significant amount of snow....with most computer models indicating highest chances Watford City-Garrison-Rugby and points north of this line including Williston-Minot. Rain-snow mix Bismarck to Grand Forks. It will be windy too. Not a paralyzing blizzard but something that will hamper travel. It will turn cold afterwards with a few nights in the single digits above zero.

...another round of winter weather over all of west and central
north dakota friday night through sunday morning...

.a strong storm system developing over the central rockies will
bring severe winter weather to the region through the weekend.

Northwest and north central north dakota can expect snow tonight
and friday. 3 to 5 inches of snowfall is possible from watford
city to williston... And stanley...minot and bottineau. Isolated
higher amounts are possible in the crosby area. Areas of blowing
snow are also expected...with reduced visibility at times. A
winter weather advisory is in effect for this area tonight
through friday afternoon.

A second and more severe wave of winter weather will impact
western and central north dakota friday night through sunday
morning. The heaviest snowfall accumulations will occur along and
north of highway 2. Several inches of snowfall can also be
expected elsewhere with a mix of snow...sleet...and freezing rain
over southern north dakota. Areas of blowing snow will also
develop with winds gusting to around 30 mph.

A winter storm warning is in effect for most of western and north
central north dakota friday night through sunday morning. Heavy
snowfall accumulations of up to one foot or more can be expected
along and north of highway 2. Further south...5 to 9 inches of
snow will occur in places like amidon...dickinson...beach and
medora...center to garrison...and mcclusky to carrington.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from far southwest into
south central north dakota friday night through sunday morning.
Snowfall accumulations of 3 to 6 inches will occur in locations
along and south of interstate 94. In far southern north dakota...
A wintry mix of freezing rain...sleet...and snow will occur in
places like...hettinger... Selfridge...linton...napoleon to
ashley...and into edgeley.

If you are planning travel friday through sunday...be prepared

November 8 - 11 Storm Total Snowfall (Map)


Highest totals 18 in Crosby... then a band of 14-17 from Rugby to near Rolla-Cando then up into Manitoba. In Manitoba...highest amount 65 cm (nr 35 inches) north of Dauphin in west central Manitoba.

* main impact...around two inches of snow accumulation.

* other impacts...northwest winds of 15 to 25 mph will also
produce blowing snow. Be prepared for slippery roads and limited
visibility.

In regards to this current storm....not a biggie for most of the state mostly 1-3 inches but it will be quite cold Sunday behind it with low wind chills.

EXCEPTION will be southeast ND which will see 4 to 6 inches of snow south of Jamestown to Fargo.... jfor Saturday night into Sunday morning
