Is Beach North Dakota a good palce for families?
We are a family of five and are relocating to Beach, North Dakota. We are wondering about the schools and community. Can anyone help us? We also would like to know about the churches..

Well, I can tell you this. There's a brand new Flying J truck stop located there. Spent a few nights there. Very quiet and not crowded at all.
I'll have to check the actual town out next time I pass through.

To find about Beach, ND, check out their web site: Welcome to Golden Valley County, North Dakota Then visit the state tourism site and find the closest major city for hospital and shopping. Beach is very picturesque but out in the middle of no where. My concern would be employment. Do you have a job that you can do over the Internet? ct

Beach is a wonderful place to live!
Cacma5:
Beach is a wonderful place to live! We moved here in 1995 (12 years ago). It has good schools, wonderful people (friendly, helpful), virtually no crime, affordable housing, low cost of living, clean air, beautiful scenic landscapes [on the doorstep of Theo. Roosevelt Nat'l Park and surrounded by national grasslands]. Your children will love it. I see kids playing and having fun all the time -- sand lot baseball, swimming in the city pool, sledding in the winder, Easter egg hunts in the park. We have beautiful weather -- sunny, blue skies -- winter can sometimes act up, but not too bad. We're considered the North Dakota "banana belt". I personally like winter -- clean, white, fresh & sunny. Just buy a warm coat and stay put when the roads are bad. You won't find many places in the U.S. as unspoiled as this. I highly recommend it.

The Flying J truckstop has been there since the early eighties at least... Maybe they built a newer building but its been there a while.
I spent a few years of my childhood in the early eighties in beach. It is a great town to raise children and the only thing I would caution anybody who wants to move there is that the nearest hospital is in glendive montana.
Setinell butte has some cool agate/flint like rocks on the top of it and the roads in the area are often red gravel called scoria.
I loved it there as a young kid and it was fun.

I've passed through a few times i've always thought that it was a very charming place. I LOVE western ND though, so I would probably say the same about anywhere in the reigon.
