Forgot to mention. You will not find anything in craigslist as people here dont really use that website. BismanOnline.com is widely used by everyone here in ND. Alot more people posts there than CL. Also you will have better luck by visiting the realtor offices listed by DaninEGF as they have prints of daily updated vacancies not posted anywhere online. Souris Valley Hotel and the Grand Hotel are the only pet friendly hotels that offer extended rates. Good luck.

People with pets have caused so much damage to apartments and homes, people are reluctant to rent to pet owners. It is not just one pet owner, but multiple that cannot clean up after their pets. Trying to keep a large dog in a small apartment, the dog gets restless and tears up doors and carpeting. Then you have the pet hair that is trapped in the ventilation system that needs to be cleaned out after the renter leaves. People are becoming more allergic to all types of animals, plants, and smells, it really makes it hard to rent sometimes. Don't blame the home owners, blame the previous pet owners who won't take care of their homes.

Ok, so we got into Minot on Monday and been at the hotel... getting everything settled and taken care of. Went out with the property management people today and took a tour of some rental houses and apartments. Found a couple places we might consider. Question... anyone know much about the area of 5th street NW, Minot? Is that a safe area??? 2100 block area?

I live off of burdick just east of the hospital. I would have to check the map on that area. most of minot seems pretty safe. SHOP AROUND! you would be surprised whats out there. many places only ask 6 moth leases to. there is competition for tenants just like there is for housing. as you can see minot has no shortage of housing. maybe you can fill us in on what you are finding. welcome to minot!

There are several rental agencies in town. Please call them daily to check on what is available. There are about a dozen agencies. If you don't have their numbers, contact me and I will be glad to give them to you.

We already got an apartment. Move in date is october 24th. Was the best deal we could afford and get and and spent all the last of our savings on staying at this hotel til then. However. ..hubbys company is going to reimburse us for a chunk of it.

Thankyou for your help offer though

Oh...and we set it as 6 month lease.

good job guys! 6 months is perfect, this way you can see if you like it and get a better feel for minot. I just heard there are several new complexes about to open soon. did you notice how plentiful the rentals are here? did you find it was cheaper then you expected?
