Recently, the rural South Prairie school district south of Minot voted to build its own high school.

Coming up. the suburban Nedrose school district SE of Minot will vote on building a high school. Right now, it supports K-8 with the high schoolers bussed to Minot or Surrey.

Voters in the Minot district rejected a bond that would have built a second high school. A more inexpensive version of the bond will probably appear after three months.

Couldn't the school districts work together instead of building all these schools? Nedrose and South Prairie could merge and their facilities would be better.

Everybody wants their piece of the pie. The problem is that pie is tax money. There's no way the Minot area needs 3 new Highschools all of a sudden.

THey are all different directions. Right now, the children from those school districts go to Minot. With the growth in Minot, the rural school districts are now inside of Minot city limits. Just because you live in Minot you will go to the Minot schools. Southeast of Minot is in the Nedrose school district and just northwest of the new Ramstad school, that area is in the Burlington school district. Always ask which school district you are in when you purchase a home.
