Hello hello! My name is Sam, I am a soon-to-be 22 year old female college grad student from Springfield, Missouri. I am actively pursuing a serious job offer at Coal Creek Station, close to Underwood. As of right now, I am interested in living in Bismarck and commuting the hour to work. The job pays well, but I'm aware that the cost of living is high in many regards. I love open land rather than big cities. I love being outdoors and drinking beer. I love hard working country boys and dogs.

I'm looking for advise as far as renting situations (where to look/roommates), young social scene/Friday nights, how to prepare for the winters, and what a good salary would be for a single gal and her dog.

I am single. Are there other young singles in the Bismarck area, or is it mostly families?
Are the locals friendly? Let's be honest, I'm gunna need all kinds of help learning the ropes in such a cold place.
How much can I estimate spending on good winter clothing/gear?
What kind of outdoor activities do people do during the winter, if any?
Any info or someone's two cents would be so appreciated. I am way out of my league!
Thanks everyone in advance!

You may want to reconsider this if you aren’t deadset on Bismarck. The roads in winter aren’t the same as in Missouri. Look at Washburn if you haven’t already, plus it is significantly more country than Bismarck. The job pays well, but I'm aware that the cost of living is high in many regards. I'm looking for advise as far as renting situations (where to look/roommates), bismanonline.com young social scene/Friday nights, No clue as I’m married and old enough to be your father. how to prepare for the winters, Visit Runnings when you get up here and learn to love Carhartt and what a good salary would be for a single gal and her dog. Sorry, no clue

I am single. Are there other young singles in the Bismarck area, or is it mostly families?
Are the locals friendly? Very friendly up front, but I am beginning to question the sincerety of a lot of the locals Let's be honest, I'm gunna need all kinds of help learning the ropes in such a cold place.
How much can I estimate spending on good winter clothing/gear? Well, if you buy the good stuff, it will be worth every penny
What kind of outdoor activities do people do during the winter, if any? Hibernate, ice-fishing and travel to Mexico/Arizona/Florida.
Any info or someone's two cents would be so appreciated. I am way out of my league!
Thanks everyone in advance!

OP there are a good amount of singles out here from what it seems like. I have never received so many responses from online dating from legitimate looking women. However, it seems like some people here are cliquish. It kinda sucked to go to a bar and no one looks once at me.

Sounds like southern manners
