You are clueless. Has NOTHING to do with location.
I beg to differ. There are many areas of the country that willingly accept pets. Just sorry to learn that No. Dak. isn't one of those areas.

Corbay is on a distinguished road
Jammie,
Which part of the country would that be? As I stated I network with a lot of landlords from ALL parts of the country on several message boards. Universally most landlords despise pets.

And I will ask what do you feel is a reasonable amount of pets to have?

If 3 cats is fine, how about 8? At what point is it too much? Have you ever seen or SMELLED the damage pets can do? Obviously not.

Actually, I'm an animal lover and have pets of my own. I've had people enter my home that were surprised and even commented on the lack of "pet smells" such as litterbox odor, etc. All that is necessary is that you train your pets well and keep their litterbox clean and life is good. We've also had dogs in the past and never had problems either and neither have our neighbors. You just need to be a responsible "pet parent" and walk them instead of letting them run lose. Also, it's your responsibility to take along the plastic gloves and the baggie to clean up after them.

I've seen a lot of ads in my local newspaper where pets are allowed. Also, you can check out apartments in any area of the country and you'll find that many accept pets. Of course the stickler is that there's a deposit, but many do accept them. Some of the sites to verify this are~

Apartments.com
Move.com
Apartmentguide

Default My experience with pets and children

For a long time single mom with pets. I ended up buying a mobile home and sticking out the trailer trash criteria, just so as to have a place to live. Single mom's out, kids are thought of as single parent brats. And then you have the pet odor thing.

I've had pets and I have had problems. Cats spray the walls, dogs have accidents. Cleaning can be fun.

Children were well mannered. They didn't put art work on the walls or punch holes in the doors. But renting a place was impossible.

However, I do find this strange that a farming area like North Dakota, one can not find a landlord that doesn't have a cow over pets.

I'm moving to ND children are grown, special dog has a home in Texas for the year. If I get there and find this thread to be true, the heavens will rain with my tears. I love my dog. I love my kids more and I go to prepare a place for all to come together, so as to have my grandkids in a nice area for a healthier lifestyle.
