Default Dad with two boys moving to no-dak soon

I am a single father of two great boys (8 and 9) wanting to move to No-dak in march of this year. I am realy having trouble finding a place to rent in a small town near Minot, south, east or west sides. If anyone could point me in the best way to find a home for us in the country, it would be a real help to us. The rent cant be to high and i dont mind a home that might need a little TLC. Our home that we live in now is paid for and we are going to put it up for sale next week so we would like to rent till it sales. So all the help we can get would be great.

I have been working on farms all of my life so any jobs, full time, part time or temp. jobs that you all might know about would be great to know too. I am a jack of all trades of all sorts lol. So please keep us in your mind. Thanks very much.

We are great family and we have alot to give (you and yours) and all of the great state of No-dak. It will be a dream come true when we get there. We have been talking about it for sometime now. Now i can provide a better life for my boys.

Thanks for any info that youall can give.

I suggest the first place to look (if you havent already done so) is the Minot Daily News and check the classified section. I just did so and there are some properties for rent. Houses for rent are not too common in North Dakota and rural areas especially. But I suggest checking out the newspaper classified....there is a "wanted to rent" section which you could put an add in. That would be the best bet. And of course there is our resident Minot real estate expert who frequents these boards as well.

My wife and her family live all around the Minot area. Some nicer smaller towns include Burlington-Des Lacs to the west...Velva to the southeast and Foxholm and Carpio to the northwest. But being that rentals in small towns are hard to come by....might have to settle for renting in the city and then looking outside of town later.

I will Private Message you the list I saw tonight (Wed 1/15).

Dan

I am glad to be of some help. It is tough to find houses for rent...the best thing I thought was at least you have some contacts with companies/people dealing with housing rentals in Minot area who can steer you in a good direction and let you know what is out there. I have friends who live in the Burlington/Des Lacs area and like it there and the school district is good and much smaller than Minot. My wife's parents live south of Minot near Max, ND in a very very rural area. May be slim pickens but I hope you find what you want.

Sorry for such a late responce, We have alot going on down here right now. I realy dont mind being close to the town but we just realy dont want to be in it. My boys like the outdoors and i dont want to cramp there stile of living. They love running a playing games outside and we dont want to bother any of the people next to us. The boys are talking about No-dak all of the time, now that we are so close to getting there. Again thanks for all of your help and hope to see you up there.
