I really like the new Thai place that opened a few months ago in Fargo. It's in a shopping center on 25th street. It has the same menu as the Thai Orchid in MHD, and I believe it is owned by the same people. I'm glad I don't have to drive all the way to MHD for it now.
There is a new Mexican Restaurant in Minot, Mi Mexico. It's located on South Broadway next to Walmart. Seemed like everyone working the were of Mexican decent and the food was really good and reasonable. Four of us eat for $42.
OMG yes! The Bistro (in Bismarck) is sooooo good!!! Other places I miss: Los Amigos, Kroll's (the one on State St), Rockin 50's, Big Boy (they started here in Cali, but the ones here just aren't the same!!!), DiDonna's, The Walrus, East 40, The Pier. YUUUUUUUUUUUUUM!!!! I have to say that I'm actually kind of happy the International and China Star are gone, make way for way better restaurants!
Sanders was my favorite restaurant in Grand Forks. It has gourmet food, fine wine, great coffee, and a nice atmosphere. It's not pretentious; it's good food. The service is fabulous, too.
In Fargo, I like Bertrosa's (Chicago-style sandwiches) and the Yuki Hana (Korean and Sushi).
When I lived in Bismarck, I liked getting a malt at the Rockin' 50's cafe.
I can't drive through Grand Forks without thinking "maybe I should stop at Whitey's".
Dang you all! Now I need to get back to ND for Big Boy! I miss Perkin's muffins too.
You know what I LOVE about Bismarck (or at least it was there in the 90's) was that there were 2 Subway restaurants with DRIVE THROUGHS!!!!! I have traveled many places and have not seen any drive through Subways!!!
Hi,
In regard to the Woodhouse restaurant and the person who wanted to call it "Kings", there is a reason. Along about 1978 it changed names from "King's Food Host" to the Woodhouse. I know, I was working there at the time. Five years total and then escaped with my sanity. World's best hamburger was it's claim, and it just might be. Ron
