For more information about the location of power plants you can go to this website and click on the individual states to find out where power plants are located. In fact Mercer County has 4 power plants. That is crazy for a rural county.

Are you a rabid environmentalist? You seem to be fanatically obsessed with those four coal burning power plants in Mercer county. Do you live there? Or do you just happen know what's best for everyone else?

Uh no. I am a conservationist and not as much an environmentalist. My negative experiences with coal comes from having lived on top of a 50 year old coal plant in Lawrence, KS. That got me started on becoming energy self-sufficient. I am now semi off the grid in rural NH. I use biomass for most of my heating needs along with solar.
