Balta is obviously near the geographic center of the North American continent.
I have never been in North Dakota but Road Runner magazine just did an piece about a motorcycle tour in ND and it seemed like a very peaceful place with interesting scenery.

That's not really something that would make me want to live and work there.

Balta is west of Silva, so I'm correct....
Also, Silva is considered to be a ghost town, so it would be on the
endangered towns list....

When the climate warms enough to grow wine grapes in ND I'll consider living there through the winter. As I get older the winters seem to get colder.

I was told not to post sales to the group. I am terribly sorry. I was warned off list, but thanks for being so nice about it "Roundball" and "Mikeytoo". Which brings me to "jrmontag"'s post.
5) Looking for a place where Wal Mart is not the be-all and end-all of the shopping experience;
Not true, some towns are LUCKY to have Wal Mart just so there IS someplace to shop, sad.
7) Looking for a place where vicious gossip is not the sole entertainment;
So Not true. Small towns are terrible for gossip and hurting people. Sometimes making up untrue things about people.... For entertainment? Not sure.
9. From what I have observed from reading stories in the local papers, many people there still take the time to get to know and help out their neighbors;
True.
