Zakian, have you refreshed the page when it doesn't come up? There are moments when the site isn't working too well~like very slow, etc, but it's not that often. I hope that it's working better for you now and if it isn't, we can find someone who will help us.

If you think a city is boring just because it is small, then your logic is very flawed.
I grew up in a small town 0n hyw 83 north of bismarck and have since lived in mt and wyo. I have never been "bored" or lived in a "boring" area. The word itself is meant for people not places!

One good reason to move to ND is that there is no earthquakes. Check out this map. Seismicity of the Central United States

Ironically there was an earthquake just 110 miles north of the border of ND on the 10th, a 3.6 and ND has had them. Not on a west coast scale of course. The largest earthquake recorded in ND was a 5.5 in 1909, so I think it's safe to say most will never feel one there. Instead ND has hail storms!!! Anyone remember Bismarck during the summer of 2001? Washington was basically a lake, and the underpasses were filled literally to the bottom of the overpasses, over $225 million in damage between the cities of Bis/Man/Lincoln. And the hail storm in July of 2005? Or the 5 tornadoes in September of that year? Amazing storms! I miss the storms!!!

The clay soil in the Red River Valley pretty much makes the area an earthquake free zone. However, it makes building anything big or tall a huge headache because you have got to drill big cement pilings down to the bedrock to prevent buildings from sinking.

Hey marmac,
The reason no one mentioned jobs, is because there are none.
Nuff said.

I'd don't know if I'd say that, it all depends on what your looking for. I know people who have struggled in getting a job in the field they want and some who had no problem at all after college.

Default Why move to ND

I live in Minot North Dakota and I have lived here all my life even though I am only 13. North Dakota is a great place to live and is EXTREMELY SAFE. The last murder that happened was about a year ago and even one murder a year is A LOT for ND. Very rarely does anybody get killed here usually I hear about a murder maybe once every two years. Our schools are safe as I have never been bullied ever in our schools. Our climate is great, cold winters hot summers. We NEVER NEVER have traffic jams here, EVER. I have never been in a traffic jam and probably never will be. There is litttle no cars at all on broadway at 1:00a.m to about 6:00in the morning. When I have been on broadway this late I have only seen one other car. I live in minot and the population is 37,000 and we have towns here that have only 25 people and many towns dont have over 15,000 as most are 100-1000 in population. It great hunting and fishing here and a lot of open space. You have to drive about 5 miles from any part of town to get into huge open space that all farmland and crops. From here to bismark is all farmland and small towns with a population of about 1,000 or less. In short ND is a great small place to live!!!!!!!!!!
