Are you serious, or is this an exaggeration? I'm graduating from college in Michigan next summer, and the economy here is TERRIBLE. You can't buy a job.

That's interesting. How is Williston? Is it a nice town? What types of jobs specifically are the hiring for ('customer service' is kind of broad). I have NO plans to ever leave Michigan, but it's worth keeping in mind just in case.

Yes, Williston is a nice town. .growing alot, but still fairly safe with nice people..... and when I was there, it felt like a "community".. where people were still nice to their neighbors, wave when they see people, etc

As for specific jobs that are hiring, I don't know....

There will be a North Dakota job fair in Grand Rapids sometime in February. They were there this past month and had a lot of success with recruiting workers to the Williston area. You can read the story on the link below. Check the link out, it takes you to other links related to Williston.

Dead serious. The labor situation is so bad that even places like McDonald's are offering signing bonuses in the hundreds of dollars. *Everybody* is hiring. I don't have much experience with how this translates to jobs a little higher up the proverbial ladder, but anecdotally it seems pretty amazing. I work for a newspaper, and we have several jobs we just cannot fill in the editorial department.

It's a side effect of the oil boom. The oil industry swept up every remotely skilled worker in town, leaving the rest of the town without workers.

The flip-side is the housing situation. You cannot find an apartment here unless you get *incredibly* lucky. You may not even be able to find a long-term hotel room.

If one can find a job and a place to live, Williston is a wonderful town.. safe, quiet, good quality of life.. a sense of community and plenty of things to do.

I miss Williston and would return if there was a job in town, in my field.

I worked in this town. I can tell you it not good for you kids. it full hooker. oil workers are doing other guy wifes when they are at work. It's full drugs. You can't find anyplace to live. The homes are way over price. When the boom is over you will not get anything for you home. Don't belive other when they say it's good town. They just want you to come and buy house or lot to build one. You can't rent anything. You will lose big if you buy house in this town when the boom is over be warned.

Learn to spell and use proper grammar before you throw stones and insult someone or some thing or some place.

As well, none surprising.. your first post is an insult and something negative.

Williston isn't nearly THAT bad. Sure, there are some drugs, the usual pot and meth.. like ANY OTHER town. And there are some hookers... but none of that is specific to Williston.
