Moving to Minot AFB (Glenburn: rentals, home, school)

We are moving to Minot AFB this June, I was wondering if anyone could tell me anything about the base, especially housing? Also kennels, as we have to board our pets while we stay in TLF. I haven't found much off base except 2 bedrooms that are under 1000 sq ft. We have 2 little girls who really need their own rooms. (ages 2 & 4) I was also wondering about cable & internet. We are currently in the Azores & have lousy DSL & only AFN to watch. We won't have a car for a few weeks as the military is shipping ours to St. Louis so will take a little while to go get it. Is the BX or commissary close to TLF? any information will be greatful, thank you!

Welcome to Minot and Minot AFB,
The base has built several new housing for all ranks. Also, there are boarding kennels here in Minot that you can keep your pets in. TLF does have rooms available for those who have pets, but unfortunately, during June and onward, they are being renovated and won't be available for a while. The base really isn't that big and you can walk to both the BX and Commissary. The weather will be real nice in June. Let me know what else I can help you with. CT

My husband is stationed at Minot and we live in Glenburn (about 7 miles) from the base. We are currently renting a duplex that was once base housing. It is a split level with 3 br and 1 1/2 bath, large family room and basement. Glenburn is a very small town with only a couple churces and bars and 1 small gas station. But, they have an excellent school. Alot of base people and people from Minot send their kids to school here. My family is from a small place so it wasn't anything new to us and we love it.

We are stationed at Minot, and are PCSing. We own and will be renting our home out. Larger rental units get grabbed up quickly, and the property managers out here are not the best. There are very high standards for some rentals so be aware. Check mil by owner dot com, and they have some rentals available at Minot. HTH

I too am moving to Minot AFB around 6/20. There is no housing avaialble nor storage. I have not found a place to take pets either. I had one woman tell me to live in my car. Prices are through the roof for something less than 1000 sq ft. I can't even find storage for my things and I only need 6x12 ft max. Let me know if you find anything please and lets share what ever info we find.
