Default North or South, which is better?

What are the main differences between North and South Dakota?

Hi W-B proud,

It really depends on your rating criteria on what you judge to make a place better than another place. But see some of the other postings in this forum. Some of them touched on a similar theme.

Both North Dakota and South Dakota have their qualities. Being from South Dakota, I would naturally be biased towards South Dakota.

North Dakota has friendly people, natural resources (oil, coal, grains, etc.), and its hidden beauty often overlooked by many people across the country, especially those from the more populated areas. North Dakota may fund its education a little better than South Dakota.

South Dakota also has friendly people, natural resources, Mt. Rushmore, Black Hills, no state income tax, and is growing in population (although it is concentrated along the I-29 corridor, Black Hills, and larger trade centers). South Dakota is maybe a little more diverse in its landscape than North Dakota factoring in the Black Hills and parts of southeastern SD resembling more like Iowa and Nebraska than Minnesota and rest of the Dakotas.

Both have the badlands.

North Dakota is colder than South Dakota in temps, but South Dakota is probably more conservative (no Democrat for a governor since the 1970s, ughhh we need more political balance).

Isn't this question already a thread??? I think what is being asked here is pretty much going to have the exact same answer as the other thread...except this is asking "which is better" vs. "what distinguishes"...but the answers are the same.

W-B Proud... I see you posted in both the ND and SD forums... which is what I would've done if I was curious about 2 similar states... Look at your thread on the SD forum... You'll get all the answers you need!
