Default Allergies?

Do many people have problems with seasonal allergies in ND? I've seemed to have developed them here in the PA/NJ area and was just looking at a weather map concerning pollen, mold etc and it didn't even register with places like ND & MT...

Yes those who do suffer from pollen...grass will have those allergies here too. My wife and co-workers get the allergies in the late Spring. My wife and young son are very allergic to grain dust during the last summer/fall harvest of wheat. They will tend to get watery eyes and my son who is asthmatic will have more lung congestion. But we do have longer winters so compared to other parts of the country we do have more allergy-free seasons. Mold can get bad too (at least in the usually wetter eastern part of the state) ...our son who is 3....is allergic to mold and grain dust.

Default Re: Allergies in ND

In all my years of living in Grafton ND I found I actually had more allergy problems on trips to SOUTH Dakota, not sure why the difference, but definately "something" in the air.

A lot of times one will build up immunities to the plants around them. Then when you take a trip, your exposing yourself to new polluns and smells.

I would imagine that if you stayed for a couple months in South Dakota, you'd get used to it. Then when you went back to Grafton, you'd have allergies there again for a while.
