Default Migration to ND

I just saw some US internal migration numbers (people moving around the US) and it looks like ND gained population each year for the last 5 years or so. Anyone know why?

It's a desirable place with good schools, friendly people, jobs available and a decent, low cost of living.

North Dakota and South Dakota have a thriving economy. The down trend isn't effecting level headed folks that know how much they can afford to borrow on their house.

In short: Yes

In Long:

Since Food & Energy are Sky High

- Coal Miners get hired
- Oil field Wokers get hired
- Other Energy related workes (accountants, surveyers, engineers, etc.) get hired
-Farmers make more money
-Energy & Ag companies spend more money

When those above either make more money than they used to or move to ND, they buy more stuff in ND than they would otherwise- Medical services, Insurance, Hair Cuts, Clothes, Tractors, Trucks, etc., etc., etc. Those things have to be provided by / sold by someone.

Because of the paragraph above, Doctors, insurance agents, hair cut providers; clothes, tractor, & truck sellers, etc., etc., etc. either make more money or move to ND. They then buy more Medical services, Insurance, Hair Cuts, Clothes, Tractors, Trucks, etc., etc., etc.

And I'm assuming you get the point.

I suppose there are probably other reasons why ND is growing but that's the big one.
