Default Dickinson

Hello!

I'm thinking of going to Dickinson to work for a company called BJ Services. I have seen their site, but I was hoping someone could give me their personal opinion or experiences with the company and the area in general. I'm from metro Detroit, am I in for a culture shock? Is it hard to find housing? What towns are close that are also good to look to live?

Thank you

You can get some idea of Dickinson right here on City Data. At least all the city stats. Hopefully you'll hear more from the locals.

My name is Ryan Perry and I moved to Dickinson a couple months ago. My family and I are originally from maine and dickinson was not a culture shock at all. the people are very friendly and helpful. as far as the company you want to know about, I don't know anything about it. Concerning housing we live in an apartment. What kind of housing would you be looking for? If you would like to ask more questions, please send me a direct message and I would be glad to help you out.

Default Dickinson: A Real Boomtown?

Greetings

I am planning to relocate soon to Dickinson and was wondering: is it really a boom town? That is, is there really a labor shortage there, with employers hurting for workers? Sometimes when you hear these things on the internet, the hype exceeds the reality.

I am not moving there for economic reasons necessarily. I've always found the Dakotas attractive, for cultural, geographic reasons, etc., but was always concerned about making a living in such a remote place in the past.

Thanks
