Default Oil

(My bad on the copywriting.)

I recently read an article that talked about local farmers becoming millionaires through oil. I was curious as to what ND residents thoughts are concerning the oil drilling and if there is any concerns of what the future might bring? Coming from a person who is looking to move to ND for the open country and less population, it has gotten my attention. I seem to recall people discussing the previous years of oil booms that never panned out and was wondering if this is any different?

If they think there is oil on your land they will come to you. Are you absolutely sure that you have the mineral rights as well, sometimes these were sold off years ago. My advice would be do do a search with Williams County to make sure that you have them. This boom is for real I know several people who are getting nice checks every month. I live in Mountrail County which is the heart of oil activity right now and you can see the rigs everywhere.

I purchased some acreage in Williston a few months back. I'm on my way there now for a visit. Ya, I've heard it's pretty crazy there now.

Be careful if you do get an offer for a lease. Read it carefully just seen one today and in the letter they offered 8% royalty, but on the actual contract if was only 6%. So if you get a proposal don't just sign it without reading the contract fully. The name of the company was Sunrise Petroleum so beware.

Thank you so much for your help and advice. I am waiting to hear about our mineral rights , I wanted to double check to make sure that my mom did not sign them away. I should hear back today sometime. Keeping my fingers crossed..
