Sawyer is a very small town of about 300 people. The town has a school with K-12 classes, One Post Office, One Bar, One Restaurant and a hair dresser. Nearly all of the people work in Minot 16 miles away. Don't know of any crime. Every once in a while you hear of one of the local kids doing something, but generally quiet.
There is good hunting and fishing within reasonable distance. The next "larger" town is Velva about 6 miles east. The city water is pretty crappy so a filter/softened system is imperative. With that the water is ok. If you find a place on the southside of Hwy 52 rural water is available which is good clean water.
