Default a place to stay near Plaza/Parshall??

Hi:

My brother is going to work near Plaza (coming from WI)...........seems with the new activity in the oil fields that places to stay are hard to find. Any suggestions? Hotel/motel, house to rent, room to rent, garage to rent??? etc.

Thanks for the help!!!

Sorry Bears mom...not to familiar with the housing in Stanley or New Town/Parshall areasj. Housing is very tight in the smaller communities because no one dares to build, in case the boom goes bust. Even in the larger communities in the boom area...Williston and Minot...you may have a tough time finding housing. Minot maybe has more available (as they are not impacted by the boom as much as Williston)..but Minot has a Air Force base, University, and some oil traffic. Williston is building lots of new houses, and some new rentals...but Williston has not been able to keep up the demand for housing vs. people moving in. Hopefully your son will find something. Many oil companies lease entire apartment building in Williston, so maybe he could find a company that has dedicated housing for their workers? Maybe contact the chamber of commerce in the town he is moving to, and they can point him in the right direction. Good Luck

I have family in both Parshall and Plaza. Generally when we have any family functions everyone stays at the casino in New Town. However...my father had a room in the hotel for work..and they were asking everyone to vacate the hotel because the oil workers needed rooms and get priority. There IS a hotel in Parshall..but depending on your hotel standards..it may or may not meet them. And I would most likely agree with the above comments that housing will more than likely be hard to come by in that area. Check Craigslist as well.
