Default North Dakota - Interesting/Unique/Unusual Facts.

Thought I would start a new thread on North Dakota for anyone that may have some interesting, unique or unusual facts on North Dakota.

I'll start it:

North Dakota has more daylight hours per year than Florida...

I like the temperature weather record extremes. I believe that in 1936 the record high and low were reached in North Dakota. -60 for the low and 121 for the high.

1. North Dakota contains the geographical center of North America.

2. Until the Burj Dubai, a skyscraper under construction in Dubai that reached 688 m (2,257 ft) in height on Sept 1st, 2008, the tallest man-made structure in the world was the KVLY TV mast near Carrington, ND which is still the tallest completed structure at 628.8 m (2,063 ft) -
(from Widipedia).

3. North Dakota is the only state in the Union where you don't have to register to vote.

I know, I grew up there - Rugby. Actually it is a little south, but Rugby was the closest town.

I thought that antenna was north of Fargo???

North Dakota is the only state without voter registration--needing to present ID as proof of identity is technically not the same registering to vote.
