Minneapolis: Looked at as both New York and Los Angeles by NoDaks. Much of it's original wealth was generated in ND by the railroads and the wheat mills. ND's true capitol and source of capital
Fargo: Philadelphia - big chip on its shoulder - has a lot going for it but can't get out of the shadow of NYC (or MSP in the case of FM). thinks highly of itself, sports fans similar to Eagles/Phillies fans (obnoxious)
West Fargo: South Jersey - wants to be Philadelphia / Fargo, cheaper than Philadelphia / Fargo, growing in esteem but still has its roots in AG and wants to eliminate it's hick past
Bismarck: A mixture of Washington DC and Kansas City on the Missouri. DC used to be a backwater to Philly, KC to StL, but now almost more important.
Mandan: A mix of Baltimore (DC's red headed step child) and Omaha (KC's little brother)
Grand Forks: Boston: a bit more liberal than the rest of the state, lots of college students. Obsessed with what New York/Washington do. Laughs at Philly's pretensiousness
Williston: Edmonton (Houston's too big in comparison to Philly)
Dickinson: Calgary (Denver's too big in comparison)
Jamestown: Richmond - wanted to be the second capital city - now relatively quiet
Minot: Pittsburgh, both river cities. Wants to be Philadelphia but missed out; used to be relatively more import with the railroads (Pittsburgh with its rivers)
Devils Lake / Grafton: Cleveland / Buffalo - both in decline but had historical promise
Medora: Orlando
