Default hows the driving on I-90 this time of year?

I've been watching closely the snowstorm that just blew through there and saw I-90 was closed. I guess it's opened back up now but saw it's going to be very cold the next few days. I'm driving from Portland to Minneapolis on sunday and monday, and was curious about what the roads will be like. will the snow start to melt then freeze up making the hwy a skating rink? is it plowed or does the state use salt on the roads? I've never driven through north dakota in november or in that kind of bitter cold so any info would be much appreciated.

thanks in advance!

Actually I-90 does not run across ND, or for that matter, to Minneapolis. I-90 runs from Portand, across southern Montana, into Wyo...across South Dakota and southern Minnesota and on to Chicago. Are you maybe thinking of I-94?? I-94 meets up with I-90 somewhere near Billings, MT, and then continues east into ND, and then on to Mpls. Because both of these interstates are in the northern US, they are very similar as far as road conditions. They do a very good job on keeping I-94 open and driveable year round. Because there are no Mountains or passes from east of Billings, all the way to Mpls., you don't have to worry too much. They do snow plow, and ice-sand the interstate on a constant basis after a snow storm, but other than that...once the sun has come out, and the traffic has driven over the interstate, it pretty much stays clean and open and snow-ice free.

your right, it is I-94, I-90 was my other option but decided going through ND was a better choice.
