If you are willing to work there are a lot of good paying jobs in nd right now evev truck drivers are making around 25$ per hour and there is a short supply of them! and north dakota is a great place to live,i lived in california for a couple of years and would NEVER go back! the cost of living seems like it is about half in nd and it's not over populated, that's one of the things i love about nd,the only down side is long winters sometimes,

My husband left us here in ND because he couldn't get a good paying truck driving job. Maybe he was looking in the wrong place, but he had over 18 yrs experience and was only making 12.50/hr. Not only that, but he got laid off....

He could have been lying to me... Who knows...

Myshell,

I'm so sorry to hear that your husband has left. I thought he had come back to you and his children. I hope the cost of living is low enough there that you can support your children on one salary.

I read that ND has the second lowest unemployment rate in the United States. Wyoming has the lowest, ND is second and I think SD is third or fourth. So, there must be some jobs there.

Overall, Myshell, what has been your experience there? Are you still happy that you left CA for ND? Are your children happy with the move? If you had it to do over again, would you stay in CA or move to ND, or is it still to soon to make that evaluation?

I hope the Spring and summer brings many new blessings and opportunities to your family.

Hi Christine...

Yeah, he came back and bailed again two weeks ago. I will not let him do this to us again...

I am extremely homesick right now. As it turns out, I haven't been able to visit CA and they can't come up here very often. I'm not sure what to do at the moment. My job is a good one here, but I really miss my family.
