how much experience are they wanting? That was the kicker when I came out of college. They wanted experience, but you can't get that without a job. Maybe ND in general should look into promoting some sort of program for companies to hire people new to the particular field they are in. Could help keep kids here.

Your right the jobs that are available are state agencies jobs. Problem is that the pay is low and often they are NOT looking for cpas. Usually the pay is in the $25,000 - $35,000 range.(I believe thats right, correct me if I'm wrong) I know people that started at $50,000 fresh out of college with two year nursing degrees in the Bismarck area. I can sacrifice driving nice cars etc. but to take that big of a pay cut I would have to sacrifice far too much such as retirement and my childs college education. Also other accounting jobs, when they are available, pay significantly more than the state does.

Thats a good idea, we are considering doing that. Maybe if we moved up to Fargo it would be easier to network and land a job in Bismarck. And who knows, maybe we would fall in love with Fargo.
