Minot Base Housing (home, purchase, utilities)

Can anyone please tell me about the Base housing at Minot?? I have heard that it has all been rebuilt but can't find anything about it. Anyone know if its been privitatized yet??

We are PCSing to Minot in about 6 weeks so just trying to figure out housing! Thanks

I have been in a number of the new ones. Real nice, especially the exterior. Nice looking units. Minot is a great town.

You are right, the base housing is being remodeled. For every 4 plex they tear down, they are building a duplex, thus displacing 2 out of 4 families. This has created a influx of military moving into Minot. The base is in the process of being privitized from which I heard, it's not that great of a deal. When the housing becomes privitized, the military are charged their base housing. If they exceed beyond their limits in utilities, they will be charged the extra amount. I don't know if they will be charged the cost or a little bit more. The housing allowance is high enough here that it's sometimes cheaper to purchase the home than rent. For some ranks, there is a 6 month wait before they can get base housing. Let me know if you need anything else.
