Default Would like info on Mayville

I'd would like to get some information about Mayville, both the town and the State College. I saw the school's web site, and I liked what I saw, but would like info either from someone who went there, is going there, or lives in the area.
I'd also like to learn from an "insider" about living in the town of Mayville, is it pleasant, are there things to do, how far is it from Fargo, and so on.

Thanks in advance.

I think it is a little less than an hour from Fargo... Don't know what it's like to live there, it's your usual small town... Probably wouldn't be much of anything without the college... Not sure on that, though. From what I've heard from people who have gone to the college there, it's small, individual attention, etc... Don't know much else about it.

I am sure you have seen this website on Mayville....

Mayville-Portland, North Dakota

I have driven through there and a friend of mine at work lives near there (rural Mayville)....but that said I dont know a whole lot either about the town. It is growing some along with Hillsboro as they both are attracting folks where one spouse works in Fargo and the other in Grand Forks. Mayville is a bit closer to Grand Forks (about 40 minutes) and about 50 minutes to Fargo (interstate speeds)....so the town is growing some....but there isnt a lot of new businesses....no chain stores that I know of....but housing is a bit less than both cities to the north and south. College there has about 780 students and wants to reach 1000....but dont know much about quality or programs there.

Mayville is along the Goose River which floods sometimes....mainly in the spring due to snowmelt....but it only affects a very small portion of town in a low lying part. It did this during the past spring's flood.
