Hi; me and the family are moving to Grand Forks in October. Just curious; what are the local Cable TV, phone, and internet companies there? Also cellphone companies?
thanks

Midcontinent Communications handles all three....(we have their bundle package)....though you can also choose Qwest for ph. service and there are a few other choices for Internet depending on your needs....but Midco hi speed internet is the most popular and I have good success with them in limited downtime and fast speeds. There is only Midco cable for TV.

Cell phone...Verizon and Alltell are the biggest with Sprint third.

My brother has been stationed there for years, though that may soon change.

I think like he does that it is a pretty good town, just frigid in the winters. A hint from him (he's been in awhile): Always volunteer for overseas tours in the winter.

We are leaving overseas to get to Grand Forks so won't be volunteering for that again anytime soon. (4 years) Loved our time overseas but I think Andre' and I are ready to be state side again.
Quick Question do you need engine block heaters for your cars?

Depends on your car I think. My brother up there doesn't have one I'm pretty sure, but a lot of people do. If your car is older, I'd say you'd probably want one, and they might even extend the engine life of a newer car.
So do you 'need' one? I'd say no.

Depends on where your car will be parked for long hours. Inside a garage most of the time....nope. If parked outside at night for many hours..yes....
