Grocery Stores
What are the best grocery store chains to shop at in the North Dakota area? I'm looking for ones that are clean, friendly, and have a nice atmosphere.

You don't have a lot of choices... but in Fargo Hornbachers is clean and nice. If you want more health food and organics go to Cash Wise - but it is huge and has that discount super store atmosphere. I sometimes opt to order on line and have it delivered.  |

I haven't been to Hornbacher's, but I've been to Sun Mart. Is Hornbacher's nicer than Sun Mart?

In my opinion yes it is but I have used both. I have only gone to the sunmart on University and the one in Moorehad and Hornbackers just seem brighter. But there are things that I can only get at Sun Mart. |

I just went to the Hornbachers on 32nd Ave S near University, and it's pretty nice. This store was remodeled/expanded within the few years, and it has a pretty nice selection.

No to both of those. The main grocery stores are Hornbachers, Sun Mart, and Cash Wise (in addition to the recent emergence of Super WalMart). |

Don't forget to check out "Cheep Foods" located on 45th St in Fargo - great for getting deals on foods with packaging flaws, etc. Would have to go elsewhere for veggies, fruits and fresh meats however. I prefer Hornbachers for that stuff.
