Do you know what part of the state the town was in. Maybe near a larger city?

Are you getting your information from a birth certificate? It is probably handwritten, so the writing may be difficult to decipher. If you can give me more info on Julius and his parents, I can do some look ups for you.

I've never heard of a Niobrara ND, but there is a town by that name in NE and a county in WY.

I found your Julius Dunday in WWI registration records. His DOB was 11-27-1891 in Nilerega N.D. The handwriting is difficult to make out. It may be Niagara. Julius was living in Fairview, OK at the time of registration. He is listed as single at the time. Was your great-grandmother's name Clara? If so, The family is living in Chippewa, WI in 1910 and 1920. If your grandmaother's name is Beryle, they are living in Milwaukee in 1930. In the 1910 census, it says Julius was born in WI, in 1920 it says he was born in SD, and in 1930, it says he was born in NE. Hope this helps.

By cracky there is a Niagara, North Dakota (pop. 57 -in 2000)! Niagara (without the falls) is in extreme western Grand Forks County.

Here's a link to the Wikipedia entry on Niagara, ND
