Default Best places to meet people in Bismarck?

Hi -

I (age 26) just moved to Bismarck a few weeks ago and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions, in terms of meeting people/making friends? I am not huge into the bar/club scene, so that's not my first choice. Other than that, I am not sure what types of social groups currently exist. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks.

I grew up in Bismarck. Not sure if the church thing is your scene either.. but those types of groups are thick in the area and always yield some fun and friendly individuals.
There is a pool haul just off main Ave. Something like.... 7th street or somewhere in there; its called shooters and I hung out there all the time. Hopefully its still as clean and fun as it used to be. The man who owns it was great. There are also pool and dart leagues around town.
There are also coffee shops downtown (atleast when I was around) that do things like open mic night. Those crowds are always super friendly and who doesn't love a good coffee?

Do you say howdy to folks when you walk down the street? Do you smile. Are you friendly? Social groups exist everywhere. Just need to fit in.

Be friendly, that's what people expect. Be open. That's what people expect. Be vocal, that's what people expect.

You'll do fine. Be open, non commital, friendly. People will welcome you in a heart beat. But, be honest. People will slap you down if your not. People in North Dakota expect honesty. Trueism. Nothing more.
