Carpio, ND??
So I guess I am relocating with my three little boys to Carpio in October. Anyone have any info on the "town"? Are there other kids around to play with? Elementary school is in Berthold, I believe? Also, how much a month am I looking at to heat our house with diesel? I had never heard of diesel heat and I'm a bit leery!!

need help
I am moving to Carpio ND in about 3 wks and I was wondering if anyone in hte area would be able to tell me: Is there a milk delivery company there? I get milk delivered at home here in CO and would love to continue to do so, but I am having trouble finding anything on hte internet to answer my questions. Also, is there a place to buy meat, like from a butcher, nearby (perhaps Minot?). I prefer to buy our meat from a butcher vs. a chain store. Please if anyone could help me out with these questions that would be awesome!!

While I don't live near Carpio I do know where it is. I will take a few stabs at things for you.
First off diesel = heating oil. It is used all around the country. Not as much as it used to be, but still widely used.
Chances of milk delivery in Carpio: 1%
Chances of a Butcher in Carpio:1%
You will probably need to get just about anything of importance in Minot.
Best of luck on your move.

My brother in law and family used to live in Carpio (he was a firefighter for Minot) a few years ago. They lived in a house very near the old school just off Highway 52 near the Grain elevator. There is a train track that goes just east of the highway which cuts through the middle of town. I was only there a few times and just to his house....but it is a very small town. I think there is a small diner in town (I believe we ate there once)....but for most all services you will need to travel to Minot. I never knew they delivered milk still...I have never seen or heard of any thing like that in Minot or Grand Forks. But who knows? Boy....I wish I knew more info for you about it.

That almost sounds like the house we're moving into! I'm sad to hear I probably won't get any good milk whilst living there I love it; it is so convenient and once you have milk from a dairy, milk from the store tastes like water!

I would contact a grocery in Minot to be sure....just because I havent heard of it doesnt mean it doesnt occur. So would hate to dash your hopes prematurely.
Here is a link to the ND Dairy Council. There are few dairy cows in North Dakota. There are plenty of cows...but more so breed for meat. Try contacting them they would know for sure.

good luck with your move
