Default short term housing for pipeline workers in NE ND

Had 24 hours notice to head up to NE ND to work on the pipeline. I'm glad to start the job but am wondering if anyone has any ideas for housing. Have sent may emails and made many calls. Housing is scarce so word of mouth seems to be the only way to find out anything. Looking for somewhere within 1/2 hour radius of Joliette, ND. Currently residing in a hotel - not the ideal situation. I have looked at Grafton, Cavalier, Drayton and Hallock so far to the best of my ability - any ideas? Will be up in the area until probably mid December, but longer if weather doesn't get too bad.

Try the mobile home parks. If still nothing, consider buying a used Airstream trailer.

Now...you might have already checked this out....but in case you havent this was on the Grafton chamber page with housing info for pipeline employees

Grafton Area Chamber of Commerce - Grafton, ND (under Chamber info section - housing)
http://www.graftonchamber.com/Apartm...s_for_rent.pdf

Here is a link from the city of Pembina on housing options (dont know how up to date this is however).
http://pembina.govoffice.com (click on housing on the left)

If so and no luck....you might well have to settle on Grand Forks where there is a larger selection. But keeping in contact with
the chamber would be the best bet. Grafton is the largest town in that area. Those national rental websites are not useful in our area.

good luck

Dan

That's what I was going to suggest.....call the Chamber of Commerce in the area towns (I realize some are too small for their own C of C, but often a nearby larger town has info on the smaller area towns, too).

Sometimes, just calling the local Post Office or Mom & Pop Cafe works too. In a small town, they know everyone and everything.

Good Luck!

Have been searching for pipeline jobs in North Dakota. Have previously worked for Exxon. Can anyone point me in the right direction. I have had no luck. Thanks

Look up Baker Hughes. They're always looking for good tools.
