Goodrich
Hello, I'm hoping someone on here can give me information on the tiny town of Goodrich and the surrounding area. My biggest question right now is where is the nearest grocery store? lol
We are looking at homes in ND and SD and found one in Goodrich, so any info is great. Will be traveling out that way soon from where we live in MI, but I'm curious now.
Also, if your small town has something for sale, point it out, we are still trying to decide
thank you so much, Jenni

Look on a map - Goodrich is only 115 souls - probably have to go to Harvey or Jamestown. Bring your winter gear - it's gonna be cold for the next few weeks.

thank you very much, way to promote your state, I know where it is, the population, etc. I'm also no stranger to harsh winter, I live in MICHIGAN! I already now about the cold, wind, snow, and general unfriendly weather coming.
Does anyone have anything useful to tell me? What is the terrain like, the people. What businesses are nearby, what is the surrounding area like? If you live in Central ND, what do you like/dislike.

My husband and I drove out there a couple weeks ago looking at a house. Be prepared - dirt roads, a few local businesses - cafe, general store, bank, etc. Medical and/or groceries of more than a few items, etc. would have to make a trip to Harvey. Terrain? Flat! It's just a little town out in the middle of the country. Absolutely MY cup of tea!

Hi
You may be interesting in knowing that the state of ND DOT has a weather station and webcam just west of Goodrich (located at intersection of Hwy 200 and Hwy 14). It gives the current temp and other data. The webcam is updated very frequently but can only see darkness at night.

You asked and I answered - you don't need to get snotty about it! Harsh winters in Michigan - give me a break - you don't know what harsh is yet. A normal winter is blowing 30kts, the barrow ditches have snow up to your waist, no power, no water and no LP. If you're lucky it will stop in a week and then the temp drops to -30F for another week. Oops, that's not ND, that's my home in WY. Stoopid me!

Oh, and it's FLAT - only trees are on the edges of the plowed ground where there's water.
